The picture to the left is a link to the album "THE EMANCIPATED". We have chosen to use this song as the theme song for our ministry. Many thanks go out to the wonderful folks at Island Evangelical Community Church in Hong Kong for letting us utilize this wonderful song. The composers of this song were Jeff and Leora Caylor who are the worship leaders for Island ECC. If you would like to learn more about their ministry, their website address is http://www.islandecc.hk/ . The electronic door at the supermarket does not open when you stand in the parking lot and command it to be opened. It only opens as you come right up to it. I believe that the Red Sea only opened up for Moses and Israel as they began to step down into the water. I believe that it wasn't until they went forward that the sea began to open. I don't know why but many times, God just does things that way. He allows us to come to the edge of a need before meeting it. That is just His way. I heard a minister once say "God is slow but He's always on time". HE IS ALWAYS ON TIME! Whatever your need is today, don't shrink back in unbelief. Walk up to your need in faith believing that God will open the door for you as you step into it. If we shrink back the door may never open. JUST WALK THROUGH! |
I will arise and go to my Father, and will say unto him. Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee. And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants. Luke 15:18
If you've been in christian circles for very long, you've probably heard the story of " The Prodigal Son " He takes early withdrawal on his inheritance, jets out on his own and ends up wasting all he has on a loose lifestyle. He ends up eating with pigs and feeling like a total loser. He realizes that even his fathers servants are eating better than him, so he decides to go back and ask for sympathy from his father. Who knows, he thinks, "Maybe Dad will put me to work and feed me. It'll sure beat this slop." You know the rest of the story........... The son comes home, Dad runs as fast as he can to meet him, cleans him up, gives him a ring, robe and a new pair of shoes, fires up the grill and says " Let's have a party". Have you ever felt like the prodigal? Can you identify with him? We've all been him at one time or another. We've all eaten our slop. We've all wasted the things God has so graciously given us. And yet, if we are truly His children, we are still at the very center of His heart. Yes , He hates our sin, but when we return to Him, it's as though we never left His side. Maybe your saying to the Lord "just make me a lowly servant". Boy, have I got news for you . Galatians 4:7 declares " You are no longer a servant, but a son. " Repeat that over and over again until you grab hold of it. God doesn't want us relating to Him as a servant. Serving is a wonderful thing. Jesus said that the greatest would have to be a servant of all. If we want to be anything for the Kingdom of God we must learn to serve. But let us see ourselves as a child who is doing his fathers bidding, not an employee following his boss's orders. Let this sink into your heart: " GOD DOESN'T WANT SERVANTS, HE WANTS SONS ". He doesn't need servants. He has plenty of angels to do the serving. When He calls you to serve, just see it as another way to love Him. He delights in that. If your a prodigal, come on home. Dad's waiting for you on the front porch and if he sees you he's gonna' come running. If you see yourself as a servant, He saying to you " Yes, I am THE BOSS. But I'm YOUR Father ". |
